Young was activated from the disabled list on Friday after being sidelined since May 22 with a leg strain and personal issues. The Tigers' designated hitter pleaded no contest last month to a domestic violence charge for assaulting a 21-year-old women in a Detroit hotel on April 14. Young, who said he was depressed and had a drinking problem, also spent 30 days at a California rehabilitation center and has said he has stopped drinking.
