The Texas Rangers have placed Alfonseca on the 15-day disabled list for a sore throwing elbow. With the right-handed reliever sidelined, the Rangers recalled Robinson Tejeda from Triple-A Oklahoma to start Friday night's game in Houston against the Astros. In 17 relief appearances this season, Alfonseca has posted a 4.80 ERA without a decision.
