Hamilton received clearance from Major League Baseball to play in minor league games the rest of the season. The Devils Ray outfielder, the No. 1 overall pick in 1999, hasn't played since July 2002 because of injuries and personal issues and was suspended in February 2004 for violating baseball's drug policy. (Updated 6/30/2006) Analysis: Hamilton was allowed to begin working out at Tampa Bay's minor league complex on June 2 and has participated in simulated games. The Devil Rays have yet to announced where he'll be assigned.
