The Houston Astros placed Burke on the 15-day disabled list with a dislocated left shoulder before Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Colorado Rockies. Burke was hurt in the sixth inning Saturday when he crashed into the wall in right-center field while catching a ball hit by Garrett Atkins. Burke's shoulder popped out of the socket and popped back in, the Astros said. An MRI exam has been scheduled in Houston.

Analysis: Burke was batting .378 (14-for-37) with six doubles and seven RBIs in 20 games. The Astros replaced him on the roster by recalling utilityman Joe McEwing Sunday.
