The Brewers acquired Nix from the Rangers on Friday in a six-player deal that also sent All-Star Carlos Lee to Texas. Nix, a 25-year-old outfielder, has been in the minor leagues since hitting .094 (3-for-32) in nine games for the Rangers in April.
