Holliday was out of the lineup Tuesday, but received good news on his left wrist. "He has a deep bruise and that made everybody's day," manager Clint Hurdle said. Holliday was hit by a pitch from Arizona starter Claudio Vargas. "It beats the heck out of the alternative of being down for any length of time," Hurdle said.
