Keppinger was recalled from Triple-A Omaha to replace the injured Reggie Sanders on the roster. He may be used in the outfield as Sanders is out for the season with a knee injury.

Analysis: Keppinger hit .284 with three homers and nine RBIs in 33 games and 116 at-bats for the New York Mets in 2004. The Royals acquired him from them in a July trade and he has hit .354 with two homers and 17 RBIs in 32 games for Triple-A Omaha since then.
