Shoppach was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Friday by the Indians when catcher Tim Laker was designated for assignment. Shoppach hit .282 (22-for-78) with four home runs and nine RBIs in 21 games for Buffalo after being sent down on May 20. He hit .250 (4-for-16) with two RBIs in eight games, including five starts, while he was with the Indians earlier this season.
