The Cleveland Indians optioned Carmona to Triple-A Buffalo Saturday, but plan to bring him back in a few weeks as a starter. As a closer, Carmona lost four games and blew three saves. He is expected to join the rotation as a replacement for rookie Jeremy Sowers.
