Gutierrez was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday when fellow outfielder Casey Blake was activated from the 15-day disabled list.

Analysis: Gutierrez, 23, was called up June 16 after Blake strained a muscle in his left side. He hit .258 with four doubles and four RBIs in 20 games with the Indians.
