The Rangers purchased Masset's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma on Sunday when right-hander Robinson Tejeda was returned to the RedHawks.

Analysis: Masset, who is yet to appear in the major leagues, pitched in six games for Oklahoma, going 1-4 with a 6.47 ERA. He was drafted by the Rangers in the eighth round of the 2000 draft and began this season at Double-A Frisco, where he was 2-2 with a 2.06 ERA in eight starts.
