The Indians purchased the contract of reliever Tom Mastny from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday. Cleveland acquired Mastny in 2004 from Toronto for infielder John McDonald.

Analysis: Mastny has split the season between Double-A Akron and Buffalo. With the Aeros, the 25-year-old was 0-1 with a 1.09 ERA and a save in 12 appearances. In Buffalo, he went 2-1 with a 2.61 ERA in 24 outings.
