James Posey
Posey exercised his $6.4 million option on Friday to stay with Miami, electing not to become a free agent. The swingman was a key part of the Miami bench as the Heat won the NBA title this season. In his first year with Miami, Posey averaged 7.2 points and 4.8 rebounds and played solid defense.

Analysis: A long-term deal might be reached in the coming weeks, but Posey wanted to make sure he was around for at least 2006-07.
