Zdeno Chara
The Boston Bruins signed Chara to a five-year, $37.5 million deal Saturday. "Zdeno is one of the premier defensemen in the National Hockey League and we are thrilled that he will be in a Boston uniform for the next five years," Bruins interim general manager Jeff Gorton said.

Analysis: Chara, the tallest player in the NHL at 6-foot-9, had a career-best 43 points last season for Ottawa, with 16 goals and 27 assists in 71 games. Following four years with the New York Islanders, who drafted him in the third round in 1996, Chara spent the last four with the Senators. He has 57 goals and 118 assists in 530 career games.
