Nick Boynton
Two days after acquiring Boynton from Boston, the Phoenix Coyotes signed the defenseman to a three-year contract. Terms were not disclosed. The 27-year-old Boynton had five goals and 12 points in 54 games with the Bruins last season.

Analysis: Coyotes coach Wayne Gretzky said Boynton will add a physical presence to the team. He was swapped for defenseman Paul Mara.
