Michael Garnett
With a shutout victory over Montreal on Monday night, Garnett became the first Atlanta goaltender to post consecutive shutouts. The Trashers beat the Devils 1-0 on Friday night, and Garnett has 65 saves in his last two games. The rookie has held the opposing team scoreless for the last seven periods.

Analysis: Garnett is 9-7-3 on the season and 4-0-1 in his last five starts with a 1.55 goals-against average and a .949 save percentage, but he may begin to see his playing time decrease. Atlanta's Opening Day goalie, Kari Lehtonen, returned from the injured reserve on Monday. Lehtonen, the No. 2 overall pick of the 2002 season, started in goal in the season opener, but missed the next 35 games with a strained groin.
