Brett Hull
Hull will announce his retirement before Phoenix' game against the Detroit Red Wings. The third-leading goal scorer in NHL history with 741 regular-season tallies, the 41-year-old Hull has played sparingly in all five of the Coyotes' games this season, recording just one assist.

Analysis: The aging veteran, who also netted 103 goals in the playoffs, came to realize that his skills had diminished markedly over the long layoff created by the NHL lockout. Only Wayne Gretzky, his coach with the Coyotes, and Gordie Howe have more goals in NHL history.
