Jay Bouwmeester
Bouwmeester was awarded a two-year, $4.35 million deal by an arbitrator on Wednesday. The Panthers' defenseman earned $945,630 last season while recording five goals and 41 assists in 82 games. He's scheduled to make $2.1 million in 2006-07 and $2.25 million in 2007-08. Florida has 48 hours after its final arbitration case is settled Aug. 4 to accept the deal or Bouwmeester will become a free agent.
