Yann Danis
Making his NHL debut on Wednesday night, Danis stopped 32 shots and blanked the Atlanta Thrashers for a 2-0 Montreal victory. Playing in order to give Jose Theodore a night off, the 24-year-old netminder became the third Montreal goalie to win his debut with a shutout, following Wayne Thomas in 1973 and Bob Perreault in 1955.
