Alexander Ovechkin
Ovechkin edged Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby to win the Calder Trophy for NHL's top rookie on Thursday. The Washington left wing was a sensation in his first year, becoming only the second rookie to score 50 goals and record 100 points in a season, joining Teemu Selanne, who accomplished the feat in 1992-93.
