Jocelyn Thibault

Thibault found out Wednesday he needs surgery for a hip injury sustained in practice last week and may miss the rest of the regular season. The Pittsburgh goalie suffered torn cartilage in his left hip when he was jammed into a goalpost during practice in Montreal.

Analysis: Thibault has been a major disappointment, going 1-9-3 with a 4.46 goals-against average and .876 save percentage in 16 games. Pittsburgh recalled goalies Sebastien Caron and Dany Sabourin to take Thibault's place. Sabourin is expected to start Wednesday.
